The primary health care issues in my community are infection and obesity. To decrease infection issues one can practice proper hygienic hand washing. Also, Wearing appropriate PPE and clean and disinfecting surfaces. At this current moment of our lives living in the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand the importance of following the CDC guidelines to stay safe and healthy. The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the importance of optimal hand hygiene practice to reduce cross-contamination and spread the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the disease (World Health Organization (WHO) 2020a. Hillier MD Pg 45). As a nurse, I will practice frequent handwashing, wearing protective gear, disinfecting surfaces, and equipment before using them on my patients. (Public Health Agency).

Another significant issue is obesity. Poor nutrition and lack of regular physical exercise among people in the community have led to increased obesity. Poor nutrition has further increased chronic medical complications such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure, significantly raising the number of admitted patients in our hospitals (Obesity, 2019). As a nurse, I would get involved in this solution implementation by organizing public meetings and rallies to advise the community on adopting the right nutrition methods and regular exercise.
