2. The minimum education requirements in the job announcements must be consistent with the degree you are pursuing and asking the VR&E to support you to obtain. (i.e. if the job announcements require only a bachelor degree, VR&E will typically not support you for any other higher education degree)
3. Look at the experience requirements. VERY IMPORTANT!! If you graduate with a degree but cannot meet the experience requirements of the labor market, employers will not consider you to be a qualified applicant for the position. This will result in you not being able to secure suitable employment.
4. There are ways for you to gain experience sometimes.
a. Work-study position
b. Internships built in your program (i.e. an internship class, etc.)
c. Part time work in a lower level position or previous work experience that includes transferable knowledge and skills required for the new goal.
5. Look carefully at the physical requirements.
