Needs assessment
The need assessment was focused on the corporate sector. In the corporate world, employees need can be reached depending on the involved type of work they are participating in, and their social settings. There are dynamic and successive changes that take place within the workplace while employees work harder to keep up with the stiff competition in the business economy. These changes are diverse, ranging from socio-cultural to economic, they generate health concerned needs among the employees.
Kittitas Valley healthcare hospital had the call for conducting a need assessment in the corporate sector, among the employees within their area of work, to get to understand the health-related concerns. Then, the outcomes would be channeled to developing better standards and measures that would have health issues in workplace reduced or eliminated. The preferred tools that will be used are and data studied from, is the Health Risk Appraisal tools, this tool get to record data current health status of involved employees. This tool provides more content information about employees, and it requires many interpretations, and it is time-consuming. The other tools such as a questionnaire can be used in the workplace for demographic data. (Stephens, De Silva, Beane & Welch, 2017, p.28-28)
There are always trends that keep on evolving in the workplace, gathering information about them enables that wellness in the workplace. Workplace wellness is accompanied by positive factors, such as increased job morale, satisfaction, better service delivery, absenteeism is discouraged and, generally active and productive employees. There are various needs to be put into consideration: gender issues, age, staff complement and shift work. In shift work, most jobs require a shift or turn due to its nature; employees experience a lot of health-related problems, based on the shifts. Some of the problems lack enough sleep; these shift workers experience psychological problems due to too much or strenuous work and long working hours. Size of the staff complement has become a need in that, most of the corporations with a smaller number of employees are proving to hectic in finding the time and even resources that brings them together might not be in place. Considering large companies, or organization, there could be unions that brings together these members, and this enables the extraction of diverse information from different individuals concerning health-related problems within the workplace. Age is of consideration, in the today organizations or companies, most of the young people contribute larger population of the workforce. They should be considered since they are exposed to a lot of injuries or health-related problems due to inexperience or even they still going training within the company. The youths are exposed to various health-related problems such as drug abuse while the aging employees are also affected, they have personal health problems, lack of work synergy due to aging and even stress back in the families.
In gender issues, employed women experience health problems thus may depend on the nature of work, like in factories where massive machines are operated, women are likely to experience health-related issues. Some of the related stress to women may be single parenting and socio-cultural influences. Males too experience health issues such as death due to cancer or even heart attack depending on job type. Patients require better nursing services; Kittitas valley healthcare will be involving quality nursing services for the prosperity in Medicare performance. The mission of KVH hospital is to provide attention on proper patient-based health services to involved clients and the communities. KVH hospital has the responsibility to focus on combined health care services for the general community and to get to reach the isolated population within their workplace. KVH hospital will focus on creating a healthcare team that will provide health and medical support to the employees and even to the entire surrounding communities.
