A-Z Answers
Jails have undergone design changes throughout the years. So-called “first-generation” jails proved to have certain limitations, leading to the development of second-generation and third-generation jails that are prominent today. Similarly, prisons vary greatly, according to the security level necessary.
Create a PowerPoint presentation illustrating:
- The three generations of jail design. For each generation, be sure to explain how the design of the jail affects supervision of the inmates and overall safety and security.
- The different security levels for prison. For each level, indicate its general design and how the design meets the purpose of the prison.
- How these models must be altered in order to properly serve juvenile and female inmates.
