1. Should countries be allowed to enact non-tariff barriers to entry? In 200
- 250 words, state your opinion and give three reasons why you believe that
your view is correct. Be sure to respond to at least two of your classmates'
posts.
2. Write a series of three sentences you commonly use in English. First
translate those three phrases into another language using the Free Language
Translation tool (http://www.babblefish.com/freetranslator.php). Then
back-translate those sentences into English and determine whether they still
"mean the same as the original sentence. Describe how the Special English
technique can make it easier to communicate clearly with foreigners and why
cultural sensitivity plays an important role when conducting business
abroad. Be sure to respond to at least two of your classmates' posts.
3. Some of the key issues in supply chain management are obstacles to
process integration along the supply chain. Using Table 13.2 in Chapter 13,
identify one obstacle that you have encountered in your experience, and how
that obstacle could have been avoided. Respond to at least two of your
classmates' postings.
4. Using the balanced scorecard approach as detailed in Chapter 14 (Figure
14.1), identify 4 key metrics that you would propose for your organization's
supply management system and how you propose to measure those 4 key metrics
in your supply chain. Be sure to respond to at least two of your classmates'
postings.
