Patient and family centered care is an approach in which all healthcare organizations gear their business towards. Most places strive to focus on providing customers the best service possible, taking in consideration and respecting their cultural background, beliefs and values.

Our current healthcare system is just beginning to meet these demands of personalized medicine, convenient access, and listening to Americans and learning about their needs. Hospitals and other healthcare businesses spend lots of money educating their staff on this topic. The issue it is not understand the goal, it is putting it into practice, (Ruth Tarantino). It is proven that increase quality improvement, timeliness, effectiveness, and safety.

Hospitals implement different systems to measure the outcome. For example, each patient admitted to the hospital is assigned to a particular team. The team consists of doctors, nurses, and a coordinator, which is a liaison between healthcare professionals and the patient during the stay and afterwards. This method guarantees 100% engagement with patient, family and healthcare specialists.

To achieve a high-quality outcome and to establish a real healthcare interaction with different care teams, it’s important to put all efforts needed to focus on the delivering evidence-based treatments to patients. It’s doable when healthcare facilities deliver personalized care to patients, (Arora, 2009).
