Human needs comprise the focus of the human services profession. After completing your Reading for this week, please respond to the following questions:

• Describe Abraham Maslow’s theory of human needs in your own words giving examples of a need at each need level.
• Discuss criticisms of the Maslow theory.
• Using the Kaplan Library and the internet, research the various roles human service professionals can play in helping to meet the human needs discussed above. List and describe these roles in your post.
• Discuss current controversies or challenges in the human services field and how the political climate can impact service delivery.
