In this assignment, you are to select a topic for your research project, develop a problem statement, and explain your rationale for selecting this topic.  You should choose a topic that is of interest to you and relative to your field.  When deciding on a topic, you should focus on a few things:

1.    Select a business topic that will enable you to read and understand the literature,

2.    Make sure that the topic is narrow enough and that material is available,

3.    Turn your topic into a research question that you are going to pursue, and

4.    Before selecting your topic, imagine what your final project will look like at the end.

The problem statement should indicate what the problem is that you are researching. It is not a statement as to how you are going to solve the problem. Be specific in detailing how you came to identify the issue as a problem.
