The purpose of this exercise is to practice picking out the IV / DV etc as well as linking Z-score problems to the raw metric. For each example given: 1) Identify the type of design (experimental, quasi-experimental, or correlational), and 2) identify each variable (what is the IV/predictor, and what is the DV/criterion?). For some examples, you will also be asked to 3) calculate the z-score and identify the associated probability.
