Assignment 1:

Compose your own speech,

• Select your topic carefully and talk about a topic with which you are familiar.
• Clarify your purpose.  Are you trying to entertain, inform, persuade, or convince?
• Prepare an interesting introduction and conclusion.  Be creative, vivid and interesting.
• Try to use some of the techniques used by Kennedy and King in constructing your speech: use of repetition for emphasis, clear organization, parallelism, etc. 

• Assignment 2:

   it is now time to write your own literary essay by comparing “The Return” by ngugi wa Thiong'o  and “A Marker on the Side of a Boat.” by Bao Ninh

  In  both “The Return” and “A Marker on the Side of a Boat,”  the two main characters return to a familiar place that has become unfamiliar as a result of conflict and change.  By making reference to both stories and characters show what difficulties, fears and hopes the characters encounter as they try to cope with change.

  This should done 24-30 hours from the moment I make a downpayment. so I should receive both this assignemnets no later than wednesday morning.
