As you learned in your Introduction to health education course, assessing needs is the first step in the health education development process. It helps us to determine the type of program to design, and the ways that the program should be implemented and evaluated. For this discussion topic, walk me through the (6) steps of the needs assessment process. In doing so, discuss how health educators can utilize various data sources to infer needs for health education, design strategies and interventions for disease prevention, and prioritize health information.
