Need response to this discussion at least 150 words with reference

I have to agree that a fair punishment for the crime is a great idea.  One thing that come to mind is drugs.  Do you think people are prosecuted for drug charges to much?  One often thought I have is drugs are a problem that individuals cannot help.  Then there prosecuted, and given a punishment that can be weight over there life forever.  It not really fair for the criminal justice system to ruin somebody life, because that person has a addiction.  If somebody is caught with enough there going to be sent to jail.  Drug problem is a big problem in the United States, and prisons are filled with people that have been prosecuted with drugs.
