Visual and hearing impairments effect a student socially, academically, emotionally, and cognitively. A students that is diagnoses with visual impairment is a defined as one that has impairment in their vision, even after correct, that affect their education performance. This also includes blindness. A student with hearing impairment is defined as one that

an impairment in hearing, whether permanent or fluctuating, tit affects a students educational performance. Teachers need to implement different strategies and many services to help students with visual and hearing impairment be successful in their academics. They also need to implement different strategies to help them be successful socially.

Students with visual and hearing impairments have difficulty socializing with their peers. Students with visual and hearing impairment are sometimes show immaturity, isolation, and misinterpret social cues from their peers. 

Some ways to help students with visual and hearing impairments interact with their peers in an inclusion classroom is to provide small groups for students to interact. Have cooperative learning activities with students with impairment and general education student. Also educating the class about diversity and how to collaborate with everyone.
