Final Paper: Financial Statement Analysis
Focus of the Final Paper
You will select a company of their choosing and prepare a fundamental financial analysis of the firm from its published financial statements. After selecting the firm and analyzing its most recently published annual report (financial statements), submit an 8- to 10-page paper (excluding appendices, cover page, abstract, and references). The report will cover each of the following broad areas that make up a fundamental analysis of the financial statements of a publicly held firm: (a) background on the firm, industry, economy, and outlook; (b) short term liquidity; (c) operating efficiency; (d) capital structure; and (e) profitability.
Writing the Final Paper
The paper:
Must be 8 to 10 double-spaced pages in length (not including the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
Must include a title page that includes:
Title of paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Date submitted
Must begin with an introductory paragraph that has a succinct thesis statement.
Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis.
Must use at least three scholarly sources from the Ashford University Library, in addition to the text.
Must document all sources in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
Must include a separate reference page that is formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
