The KKK and the racist skinheads have many similarities and some differences. Both groups believe that whites should rule and that white are the supremacy. They both promote negative thoughts and actions toward minority groups and against people who are different from them. They both maintain the same types of views and goals within their group. One main difference between the KKK and white supremest groups is their historical background. The KKK started back in the 1860’s following the re-unification of the United States following the Civil War. The KKK had a certain way of dressing which was in white robes and masks and they practiced different rituals. Theses robes have been used to identify someone in the KKK since they have been around. On the other hand, the white supremest groups were proud to show off who they were and they got tattoos of the Nazi sign or confederate flag and displayed it quite frequently. The KKK started as a hate group who were devoted to eliminating black freedom in the South and restoring supremacy. The Skinhead’s became prominent in the 1980’s with their tattoos like mentioned before, and shaved heads. Skinheads are prejudice against people of all backgrounds who they don’t agree with from skin color to sexual orientation. The two groups have been known to show extreme hatred toward others who are not the same as them. They are some of the first people to commit hate crimes in the United States.

The KKK and the racist skinheads are very similar in their views or goals on what they want to achieve and what they believe should be the "supreme race “and are against people that are not Caucasian. Some of the differences between the groups are the KKK conceal their identity by wearing their white robes and masks. While the skinheads are proud to show off who they are by displaying their tattoos which typically consist of a Nazi sign, confederate flag, or any other racial depicting tattoos. The tattoos are also accompanied by their shaved heads. The KKK was formed back in the late 1880's and was formed because they did not want or believe that African Americans should have the same rights that "white" people had. The Klan wanted to "purify" their communities and set examples by doing terrible things to those of a different color especially African Americans. Since they went out in their costumes their identity was kept secret of who was a KKK member therefore it was very difficult to catch the members. For a while there were several KKK groups that popped up in the United States especially in the early 1900's but now they are hardly ever in the news and still conceal themselves quite well. There are still a few groups that go by the original Klan's view. The racist skinheads do not have quite the history that the KKK have, they primarily started in the 1980’s and their views of who they “dislike” is a little more broader than the Klan’s and are more outgoing such as they do not like people of any race, those who have a different sexual orientation, and is prejudice towards a person’s belief system. They will show their hatred in many different forms but are always proud and do not conceal their identity.
