PSY/315 Hypothesis Testing Paper

Research Issue: Determining calorie needs before and after a specific treatment plan to determine if the plan worked or not.

Use the attached data set to calculate the test statistic.  Chapter 7 has an explanation of how to calculate a t test for dependent means. The numbers in the before column are the calories needs before your treatment plan. Likewise the numbers in the after column are the calorie needs after the treatment program. I know the numbers are not reflective of real calorie needs, but for the sake of this study, assume that each number is multiplied by 100 to determine calories, but do the math on the numbers as is. (Attached is the excel data to calculate the test statistic)

Prepare a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper in which you formulate a hypothesis based on your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity.

Address the following:

• Describe your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity.

• Formulate a hypothesis statement concerning your selected research issue, problem, or opportunity.

• Determine your population and describe which sampling method you would use to generate your sample

• Describe how you would collect your data, the level of measurement of your data and which statistical technique you would use to analyze the data.  Explain why you chose that statistical technique.

Include a conclusion of your anticipated findings.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.
