Question 1:
For your first question this week, answer the following as you explore the challenges of being a young adult. What are the key markers of becoming an adult in the U.S.? Assuming that most students in the class are in the adulthood phase, at what point did you feel you became a full-grown adult? At what age? What responsibilities or challenges did you experience that indicated that you were no longer a child? Explore this question in depth about what marks “adulthood.”
Question 2:
Given what you have read about love and relationships in chapter 14, what do you think it takes to have a good, intimate relationship with a partner? You can think about your own personal relationship(s) and what you think it takes to maintain a good relationship or marriage for the long haul. An obvious answer would be good communication, but what does that really mean? What else creates long-lasting intimacy, since this is something Erikson said that young adults strive for during the young adulthood stage?
