Prewrite, and First Draft

Out of Class Essay #2 will be an Opinion Argument Essay.  Instead of presenting and validating others' opinions about a topic, you will explain your opinion in order to validate your reasons. 

Your purpose IS NOT to get the reader to agree with you (persuade) but to get the reader to accept your opinion as having validity.

Your topic is Should all students be required to write English-type essays--sometimes called expository or discursiveessays?

For this essay you are to support your standpoint with reserach information from a maximum of four (4) sources.  Tw sources are provided in the previous item, and you must use information form both of them in your essay.

ASAP you should turn in a Prewrite and First Draft.  You may turn in the prewriting that you did in class on Monday, May 19 or follow the attached guidline for Prewriting.

Your first draft should follow the attached requirements.  After getting comments on your First draft, you can revise for your Second draft.
