Preparing a Speech

Your essay should be completely in your own words. Make sure that you don’t copy word for word from our textbook or any other sources. Put your name on a title page and double space the entire document. Try to make a coherent essay, complete with paragraphs and logical organization.

Write a three to four page essay (750 to 1,000 words) describing how you would use the competencies and steps for preparing and delivering your speech. (Please do not write the speech. You cannot put all the information from the text chapters, so carefully decide which points you wish to elaborate on, but do cover most of the pertinent steps or competencies. In other words, hit the general points concerning most of the main steps or competencies, but decide which aspect of the step or competency that you wish to further describe.)
