You have been approached by a physician’s group that has plans to establish a multistate specialty medical clinic. Although experts in their areas of specialization, they have never managed or staffed a medical practice, so they have asked you to provide them with a report that provides a recommendation about how to approach staffing for the practice to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws and that also details the following information:

• What do they need to know about credentialing for physicians and nurses and other nonphysician providers?
• What are the qualifications for each type of position?

• Are the licensure requirements different from state to state?
• Compare and contrast the licensure laws for health care professionals in your state and at least 2 adjacent states.
• What are the requirements for at least 3 provider types? Examples of provider types include the following:
  • Medical Doctor/Doctor of Osteopathy (MD/DO)
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)
  • Physical Therapy (PT)
  • Occupational Therapy (OT)
