Personal Writing Project

Need help creating the right words to tell my friends I am interesting in a position with their company. I want them to understand that as I may not know many things about gas turbines I am familiar with the industry and willing to learn from them.  I want them to know that even though we are long time friend that friend ship will not get in the way and of business. Business is business and friendship is friendship.  This is something we have gone back and forth about.
