Patient Care Assignment

After reviewing the Patient Reaction to Illness Powerpoint lesson, go to the internet and research each reaction: Anger, Anxiety, Frustration and helplesness, Grief, Guilt, Depression, Dependency, Suspicion.

Create a Word document from your research containing the following:

·        At least one strategy for communicating “effectively” with the patient for each reaction to illness. (i.e. helpless, guilt, anger, etc.)

·        Write a paragraph describing a time when you experience a patient (family, friend or other) go through these stages.  What was the outcome?  Was the outcome influenced by the healthcare workers he/she/they interactive with?   In your situation, should have the healthcare provider responded/acted differently?
