What is a Concept Map?

Concept maps are graphical tools for organizing and representing knowledge. They include concepts, usually enclosed in circles or boxes of some type, and relationships between concepts indicated by a connecting line linking two concepts. Words on the line, referred to as linking words or linking phrases, specify the relationship between the two concepts.

 

Types of Concept Maps are:

  • Spider concept map
  • Hierarchical concept map
  • Process concept map
  • Systems concept map

In this discussion, you will use MS Word (using Shapes, Text Boxes, SmartArt, etc.) to create a concept map outlining the foundations of directed and constructivist model. Provide a few examples of Learning Theories that fall under each model. You can choose any type of concept map that you think it is appropriate.
