Ask students that if they have do 50 different tasks all alone, how much time will they require? Then give them an option to hire 50 employees working independently for them and this will now get the task completed 50 times faster than before. Use the same analogy to explain how parallel computing helps to improve the system performance where instead of all the jobs being performed by a single processor, we spread out parallel jobs among multiple processors. After discussing these points ask them to write a technical report on “Parallel Computing: Need and Challenges”. 

discuss if the parallel computing is easier or harder than serial computing. Ask them to support their ideas with suitable examples.
