Visit the website for your state CPA board. It is important that you visit the one for your home state, as many things, including licensing requirements, will vary slightly by state.

Answer the following questions in a one page Microsoft® Word® document and submit to the Unit 1 Dropbox.

Question 1. Relate the following information about your state:

1. Which state website did you visit? Maine

2. What are advantages of joining the state board?

3. Relate one thing about your state board that you found most interesting.

4. What are the state requirements to take the CPA exam and obtain CPA certification in your state? Be specific with your response.

Question 2. Prepare a professional development plan whose goal is earning the CPA designation. Use the information at the Kaplan Career Center as your guide.

To access the Kaplan Career Center, log into KU Campus and go to the CareerNetwork Tab to get to their site. From there, go to their "Career Profile" to access the "Career Assessment" module where you can perform industry research.

Directions for Submitting your Assignment

Compose your assignment in a Microsoft Word document and save it as Username-IT301 Assignment-Unit#.doc (Example: TAllen- IT301_Assignment-Unit1.doc). Submit your file by selecting the Unit 1: Assignment Dropbox by the end of Unit 1.
