IHRM for kim woods

In recent years many companies sent managers overseas on short-term assignments (for a couple of weeks or less) rather than on a long-term basis. What factors do you think explain this trend? What are the advantages and disadvantages of relying on short-term versus long-term assignments for expatriates? Explain your answer.
