This assignment requires you to audit one function/component of human resources responsibilities and offer suggestions that would improve upon this component and increase its effectiveness.

 

There are numerous functions/components associated with human resources including recruitment, selection, performance evaluation, salary and benefits, risk management, and discipline. Competent human resource professionals continually assess and reassess their functions/components to ensure that they operate to maximum effectiveness. In this assignment, identify one organization (through research or using your current/present organization) that is challenged in one aspect of its human resource operations. Some examples are:

 

  • the organization cannot recruit qualified employees
  • the performance evaluation system is not utilized or leads to conflict between management and employees
  • union relations are fractured/contentious
  • the compensation system does not reward performance and rather offers annual cost of living increase

 

Once you identify a challenged function/component of the organization’s human resource department, offer strategies/suggestions whereupon the organization can improve upon its performance and effectiveness. Base your strategies/suggestions on research and strategies identified through your previous coursework or other relevant material.

 

The Human Resources Audit paper should be 2-3 pages and inclusive of, where appropriate, course and supporting information. This assignment is graded based on completeness of the exercise, along with professionalism, grammar, spelling, and adherence to APA formatting.
