Compose at least 2 page single spaced paper that includes:

(2 pages of text, excluding figures.  The length should be determined by the quality of your writing, not just the number of words!!!)

I.  Introduction.

Explain the problems (reasons hand washing is important) and recommendations in healthcare.  How does this experiment support or refute the “germ theory” of disease?  Explain what are the published recommendations concerning health, (CDC), any local regulations.  (What does your hospital require?)  What factors influence the success of hand washing?    Also explain how your experiment follows the scientific method of reasoning.  State your hypothesis you are testing in the experiment.  Explain or provide evidence on how your hypothesis is valid.

II.  Materials and Methods

What you did.  Explain your variables and controls here in addition to your procedures.

Explain it in enough details so someone can repeat your experiment.

Use past tense (not a “cook book”).  This is a description of what you did, not what you are doing or should do.

III.  Results

            Summarize your findings

Include your graph with a title.

Briefly explain what your graph shows. For example what was the difference between the treatments as shown on your graph.  Include the results of your statistical test,  (ANOVA plus posthoc test such as Tukey)

IV.  Discussion

What is the “big picture” of what is all means.  How do your results fit with your expectations?  What did you learn?  In this section explain how your experiment demonstrates the difference between observation and inference.  What can you infer from your data?  How are your results validated?  Can you take this information and apply it to your future health care career?

V.  References

Cite any information that is not of your own synthesis!

Submit your paper to Due Friday at noon of Week 4
