History 101 Forum post 250-300 words: --Why was U.S. Grant’s administration as president considered by most historians as the most corrupt presidency in our history (far worse then the Nixon and Clinton period).  What was going on?  What does George Armstrong Custer have to do with this?  What was the Belknap problem?  How could Grant be such a brilliant General and such a horrible President?
