Assignment Overview

The journal is a record of reflections about your own experiences, attitudes, opinions, and feelings in relation to the material and within the context of the themes we are examining in Exodus and Deuteronomy. You are encouraged to write in your journal several times throughout the week as your thoughts develop in response to the course material.

The entries are to critically engage with the resources and dialogue provided in the course. At the end of the week, submit the week’s journal entry into the assignment submission box.

Assignment Instructions

Think back on your own experience and past perspective. Based on this week’s course material and discussion forum, reflect on the following questions:

1. Why was it important for the ancient Israelites to remember their story?
2. How does the biblical story connect to your own life story?

Assignment Requirements

• Journal submissions must be at least two pages double-spaced in length (approx. 500 words), and can follow free-form or formalized writing conventions.
• Submissions are to be written in Times New Roman 12 point font and should be grammatically coherent, with minimal spelling, punctuation, and capitalization errors.
• Entries are to engage with and cite course readings and resources; citations need not be in APA style.
