Examine Accuracy in Public Statements

M. G. Leyland, PhD, retired from his community college psychology instructor position and has applied for the position of Director of Psychological Assessment at Nature’s High Institute in a rural part of his state. Dr. Leyland completed training in the Comprehensive System (Rorschach) and the Luria Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery years ago. He has not been actively using either for the past 25 years. In his application, he accurately states that he was trained on both of those assessments.Reviewing Standards on Competence and Advertising and Other Public Statements, present arguments for and against Dr. Leyland’s compliance with relevant standards. In addition, focus on whether it is ethical for Dr. Leyland to even apply for this position, and whether it would be ethical to simply omit a discussion of his lack of current experience in assessment.
