1. WARNING – even when you do these things, I might still feel that your focus is too broad and should be narrowed, and this entails a revision in which you delete major parts of your draft and return to your sources for other information.
2. So ASK this as you revise:  is my focus too broad so that I cover too many ideas in a superficial way? 

• You are writing just a little 8 page paper, so your ambitions should focus on organization of ideas, proper evidence for ideas, and correct citation mechanics.
• In addition, write an assessment of your draft (what you see as its strengths and weaknesses), including questions you have about it.
