Compose a critical, in-depth paper in which you explore drug awareness within society to help with prevention strategies. Begin your assessment by providing a brief analysis of the sociological effects of drug use in your local community. Provide an outline of the consequences of drug use – this should include members of society along with those who abuse drugs or engage in criminal activity within the drug market.

What should community members be aware of with regards to local drug use and related crime? How can law enforcement representative work with local citizens to increase awareness and prevent the spread of drug use and related crime increase? Be as specific as possible in your responses and justify your recommendations.

Support your paper with no less than five (5) refereed journal articles. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
