Diverse Structures

When we take a deep hard look at our families today, they are not made from a mold. In today’s society it is evident that we have diverse family structures. In fact, there has been an increase in single-parent, gay and lesbian, grandparent, blended family, non-relative, and nontraditional households (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, 2011). We must have the proper tools to support these families. It is critical that we are sensitive to these diverse structures.

How will you respond to the changes in family structures and living situations of these families? Conduct a search online or in your local library or community agencies and provide 3 resources that would help to foster support of families with diverse family structures. You may include videos, books, articles etc. Please provide the link. There must also be an accompanying description of each source provided.
