Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) can be classified into two categories: Host-based Network-based. The solution that you will implement depends greatly on the desired task and outcome. Research both of these categories, and answer the following in a report of 2–3 pages: What are intrusion detection systems (IDSs)? Discuss host-based IDS versus network-based IDS. Discuss at least 2 products for host-based and network-based IDSs. Why is one IDS used over another? Provide an example of each. Why are both IDS categories important?
