Description
One of the most important steps in creating a course is to establish a series of lessons that will lead students through the course materials. These lessons become, in many cases, the first exposure of professional practices and methods that students receive.
For this assignment, put together a rough lesson plan outlining what materials would be covered week to week for a course that parallels your professional interests. Keep in mind that you must propose 15 weeks' worth of topics and subtopics. Your course may be of any subject of your choosing. Do not alter an existing course, but rather develop your own.
Present your 15 week lesson plan in outline form, providing a lesson topic and 3 (minimum) subtopics for each week. For example, a Design Foundations course might look like the following:
Week One: Gestalt Principles
- proximity
- closure
- similarity
Week Two: Hierarchy
- Scale
- Rotation
- color etc.
Because you are creating something that could be used professionally, this will be private and students will NOT be able to view other students' postings.
Purpose
To identify educational needs, prepare a course syllabus, outline the organization of the course material, set the tone for class interactions, and state the student learning outcomes.
