As one of your first assignments as the new data center manager, the CIO has asked you to research and discuss the most common lossless compression methods employed, including the following:

• Huffman coding
• Arithmetic coding
• Run-length coding
• Lempel-ziv coding

The CIO has asked that you provide a paper of 2-3 pages on your findings.

• The CIO wishes to use this information to assess the further use of the Huffman encoding method currently used by the organization against the other encoding methods available.
• The CIO has asked that in your paper you provide a high-level overview of each of the encoding methods.
• List the advantages and disadvantages of each followed by your recommendation for the organization.
