Data Analysis
The purpose of this assignment is twofold. The first is to have you organize and present our findings in both tabular and narrative form.
Analysis
A. Univariate Analysis
This section represents your univariate data analyses. Use the tables sent to you with this assignment. Refer to class readings and class lectures.
1. Describe the dependent variables
· Attitudes to the mentally ill
· Social distance from mentally ill
· Openness to treatment
· Stigma
2. Describe the independent variables
· Contact
· Mental health literacy (knowledge)
· Media awareness
· Diagnosis
· Etiology
3. Bivariate Analysis: Present the findings for each of the major hypotheses of the study
· Attitude will be related to contact, mental health literacy, media awareness, diagnosis, etiology
· Distance will be related to contact, mental health literacy, media awareness, diagnosis, etiology
· Openness to treatment will be related to contact, mental health literacy, media awareness, diagnosis, etiology

Discussion
A. Summarize what has been found. Were there any surprises?
B. Present the diagram of the potential causal pathway
C. Interpret the meaning of the findings. Why were some of our hypotheses supported and why were others not supported. Use focus group findings to support your thoughts.
D. Refer back to the assignment you did last semester synthesizing the literature on your variables. How do your findings fit with the literature you reviewed?
E. Limitations - Discuss our study’s major limitations.
F. Conclusions - Include at least a one-page discussion of implications for social work practice, policy and research
