choose one of the following exercises. Your reponse should be betwen 300-400 words -- no more, no less. So "Write Tight." Consider every word you select carefully.
1) "He said, she said." Choose two different characters who are in a situation in which one confronts the other as having done something wrong, or as having broken the rules or an agreement. Tell about the incident from BOTH characters' perspectives, using first person POV. The goal is to show how each views/distorts things in his or her favor. (Note: make the characters one female and one male, so you get to write from the POV of a different gender.)

2) Place your character in a situation that should be familiar but isn't (your character has temporary amnesia, perhaps, and is trying to determine what reality is). From the characters' POV, detail the situation using concrete sensory details that help the character determine reality.
