Write a short report on a current game engine of the student's own choice.

 

 

 

1. Students are required to

 

 

 

Briefly introduce and discuss a game engine of students own choice. Students are encouraged to explore the concept and discussion of existing technologies which define a game engine.

 

 

 

2.      For the selected game engine, documentation should include

 

 

 

Exploration of the philosophies and technical elements that comprise the design of a game engine

 

 

 

Game Engine terminology and comparison, identifying common elements of game engines and brief comparison between the functionality offered by different engine technologies

 

 

 

Existence of editing systems exploring the various mechanisms that a game engine has to produce in-game content.

 

 

 

Support for scripting languages, such as Lua, Python, or other scripting languages and their use in game engines.

 

 

 

Possibility for editing the game using runtime editors. Possibility for adding resources, various media and art assets. Discussion of business standards, legal principles, ethical concerns and development processes in the game design and development industry
