The following are the team leaders and the research project areas:

= MAC OS

We will pick teams next class to be in these groups.  Please choose your teams wisely based on your area of interest.

Guidelines for the Research Project:

• • Each team will be responsible for generating one exploratory paper on their group's OS.  The paper is notto be more than 7 pages in length. Each team will do a 15 minute presentation on their research so we can learn about the 4 OS as a class. Please use APA 6th edition guidelines to cite your sources for the paper. 
  • The goal of the research is to investigate and evaluate the OS for a small startup company. 
  • You will have one server and 5 clients in your network configuration.
  • You are to explain why this is an appropriate OS for your business.
  • You are to price out all of the required components: Hardware, Software, etc. to bring the network into production.
  • You are to take a computer technician's approach to supporting this network. How will you handle trouble tickets, training users, spare parts, etc.?
  • Put a plan together to address these issues as if you were hired by the company as a computer support technician
  • You are to use the VISIO software to build the network diagram.

  Scoring for the project is based on how well the team met each of these 8 areas of the research project.  The project is due at the end of semester (please see dates on the schedule).
