Comparing Strategies   

The United States government has published a number of strategy documents related to Homeland Security since 2001. These documents are the bedrock of our national direction to secure the homeland. There are numerous strategies from Combatting WMD, to thwarting transnational terrorism to preparing for a major pandemic. In addition, there are Homeland Security Presidential Decisions (HSPDs) and Presidential Decision Directives (PDD) that provide the Executive Components’ guidance and direction. One example is HSPD-5 (Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents (March 10, 2003), v.39 n.10, p.280-285)and is well worth reading.

Compare and contrast how the principals of strategy, national interests, and elements of power are addressed within the documents.
Assess how these concepts promote a resilient foundation for homeland security.
Include specific examples to support your analysis.
Support your paper with a minimum of five (5) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
