In todays Technological and streamline companies, managers must have wide range of skills and capabilities to run a efficient and effective operation. To be a successful Manager according to Lipman (2014), a Forbes Contributor, he explain that it may be good thing to have various attributes and knowledge of operations but it also takes specific and distinct fundamentals to execute 'day to day' operations. He also suggest 6 fundamental characteristics that are must have for any successful Manager, such as:

1) Be open to new ways of looking at things - be flexible, adaptable, and closely attuned to their environment- looking for opportunities- be a good listener.

2) Expect excellence – Set high but not unattainable standards and expect your employees to meet them.

3) Make sure your employees know – clearly where they need to focus on with well-conceived and measurabled objectives.

4) Protect your time as if it were gold – Time is a crucial management asset, and essential to thoughtful decision making.

5) Communicate regularly by providing meaningful feedback in real time – effective communication is fundamental to sound management.

6) Don’t duck conflict, but deal with it directly and fairly – Interpersonal issues, compensation, recognition, cost-cutting, layoffs, management-employee relations…

I believe any Manager must have these fundamental characteristics and attributes, which is key at a minimal, and is paramount in any Organization to execute the Company's goals, and accomplish expectations in a successful manner.
