1. Using two Natural Disasters (earthquake, volcano, flood, etc) discussed in your text,write an essay that describes each disaster in terms of how humans predicted the disaster 100 years ago, how predictable they are today, and expectations of future predictions.
2. Discuss precursors, the use of technology, and the ability to determine exactlocations or the expected scale of the event.
3. Take it to the next step; using the same two Natural Disasters describe how that disaster affected a country. Choose a different country for each disaster. For example, If you choose hurricanes and earthquakes for your two disasters, you could choose how a specific earthquake affected Haiti, and how a specific hurricane affected the USA.
4. Background of countries
For each of the two countries you have chosen also answer the following:
· What is their current population?
· What other Natural Disasters have commonly impacted these countries?
· What was the approximate population of the country when the disaster event you have chosen hit the country?
· What are the projected population levels for these countries in 2050?
Paper Requirements:
Write a research essay that includes the facts, examples and your personal analysis that is 5 pages long double spaced (1500-3000 words minimum) (excluding title page, figures and references).
