Rational:

Many aspects of Criminal Justice employment require effective collaboration, as a team, to accomplish a task. An example of this collaboration can be found within law enforcement as officers, attorney's, and judges work together to ensure justice. This is best accomplished through effective communication, and equal effort, where all team members understand the nature and goals of the project.

Project Goals:

Provide students practical experience in Team Building and Articulation of findings.

Process:

Students will break into groups of 3-5 in order to analyze, and answer, each of the following questions based on concepts discussed during this course: 

1. “While science has yet to identify a casual link to drugs & crime there is substantial evidence that drugs & crime are in fact related.  The strength of this relation seems directly connected to individual choice and the myriad of factors that can motivate choice.  Therefore, the drug & crime link can best be described through concepts of risk; in that specific factors will either increase or decrease my risk of involvement in either drugs or crime.  In reality the lack of scientific evidence, concluding a distinct casual relationship between drugs & crime, can be blamed on the power of individual choice.”  What is being expressed by this statement?
