analyzing an article

This week's issue is "Incarceration vs. Education" - are the states and/or Federal government spending too much on incarceration instead of education? 

You need to find your own article on the topic and analyze it for credibility. Who is the author? What audience do you think s/he is trying to reach? How do you know? You also need to read for issues in regards to tone, appeals to ethos, pathos and logs - what about the claims made by the author - are they reasonable? Does the author provide a solid argument or does it read more like a rant/strictly opinion pieces? Why? Offer evidence from your chosen essay (at least twice - cited) to support your assertions. Remember, your goal is not necessarily to discuss your opinion, but to evaluate the written argument. Please provide a link for the article you have chosen at the end of your post.

Your post must be at least 500 words, and is due by the start of class, Thursday, 10/13/16. Also, you must come back and respond to a co-student (at least 250 words) by the start of class, Tuesday, 10/18/16.
