1.) Choose one of the aesthetic movements which is relevant to this week’s materials and about which you would like to learn more (the Iranian women’s movement and Iranian intellectual movements, the Hausa Literary Movement of West Africa, the Chicano Movement of Mexican-Americans, or the Latina Movement of women of Latin American descent). Research the chosen movement, keeping in mind how social, political, and historical conditions influence the aesthetics of the movement you have chosen.
write a post which highlights your views on how the movement is related to the social, political, and historical circumstances from which it emerged. Include at least three scholarly resources, at least one of which you find through an Online Library. (Useful databases for your research include EBSCO Host, ProQuest, Project Muse, and JSTOR.)

2.) Analyzing a Literary Work in Relation to Sociopolitical Contexts and Movements
Each of this week’s readings, and many of those from other weeks, may be connected to a contemporary aesthetic and/or political movement that is best understood in light of specific social, political, and historical circumstances. Choose one of this relation to a movement with which it is associated (e.g., the Iranian women’s movement and Iranian intellectual movements, the Hausa Literary Movement of West Africa, the Chicano Movement of Mexican-Americans, or the Latina Movement of women Latin American descent).
Address how the work reflects the sociocultural conditions it represents, as well as how the work demonstrates, or differs from, the characteristics commonly associated with the respective aesthetic movement.
