PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! READ THOROUGHLY BEFORE SENDING HANDSHAKE OR BEFORE AGREEING TO DO THIS WORK.
Please make sure you use the attached readings links for background information before responding to this discussion question. There is also a video links provided in the Reading links attachment, Please be sure to view it prior to answering this questions. (I have taken my time to paste all the require resources you need for this work) Please you have to use them to work this discussion.
After completing all of the required readings, please pick one of the technologies/concepts covered this week (e.g., PSTN, VoIP, instant messaging) and, in your own words, provide the following:
1. Describe the technology or concept
2. Summarize its advantages and disadvantages, if any
3. Discuss trends i.e. is its use increasing, decreasing, or staying the same
Here are a few more possible topics in case you are having a hard time finding a technology/concept to write about (note that this is not an all-inclusive list): technology convergence (not discussed in this week's readings, but useful topic to know about), fax, voicemail, automatic speech recognition, interactive voice response, e-mail, instant-messaging, IMPP, SIMPLE, XMPP, unified messaging, voice and data convergence, central office, and cell phone network. Also, please note that it can be a specific technology or concept. For example, you can write about virtual PBXs rather than PBXs. The goal of this discussion is to obtain a breadth of accurate information and to increase our telecommunications knowledge base, so I still prefer that we do not have several students writing about the same technology or concept (unless there are meaningful differences between the write-ups).
Performing a limited amount of research is recommended. Be sure to cite any references that you use. Three well thought out paragraphs should suffice. Remember that the focus is on voice and/or messaging technologies.
Provide in-text citations and references for 3 or more authoritative sources. Put the reference list at the end of your posting.
