 Commas and Semicolons. For this posting, I’d like you first to scan the two pertinent sections in LB on commas and semicolons. Look especially for usage rules that you hadn’t been familiar with before or that you’d known before but been uncertain about how to actually carry them out. In your discussion posting I’d like you to do these three things:

  1. Describe some piece of new understanding about commas and semicolons from looking at LB and/or mention any remaining questions you have about the reading.
  2. Pick a sentence from one of the exercises on commas on pages 294-96, 300-04, 306, 308-09 to correct; show us how you corrected it and explain why you did what you did.
  3. Pick a sentence from one of the exercises on semicolons on pages 310-13 to correct; show us how you corrected it and explain why you did what you did.

 As in other instances, look to see what others have done first so that you don’t end up replicating what someone else has done. Please also give the page numbers of the exercises so we can be on the same page with you.
